Coding with AI, done right

Got an idea? Build it. cipher-mux structures the path from idea to code — with specialized agents that build in quality and security you can't get from a single chat session.

The problem: a single Claude session that plans, codes, and tests simultaneously loses focus. Context fills up, earlier instructions get compressed, quality drops. cipher-mux separates these phases into dedicated sessions — Ideation, Refinement, Cyber Factory, Testing, Debugger, Audit — each with its own context and instructions. Clean handoffs between phases instead of context pollution.

Built for everyone

No CS degree required. The Companion shows you everything — via chat, voice, or UI highlighting. If you can describe an idea, you can build here.

The Companion is your entry point: it explains concepts, helps with decisions, and executes actions on request. It remembers your skill level and adapts explanations accordingly. In Voice mode you speak with it directly — no typing needed. And if you prefer typing, it knows every chapter of the documentation and answers questions faster than you can scroll.

03 // pillar

Transparent, not magic

You see what the agents do. Prompts, context, decisions — everything is exposed. Learn how AI-powered development works by watching it happen.

Every entity session runs visibly in a grid cell. You see output in real time, can intervene in any session, and the CLAUDE.md layers (Global Rules → Preset → Persona → Workspace → Cell) are all plain text files on disk. No black box. If you want to understand why a session responds the way it does, read its instructions — they're text files.

Designed for access

WCAG AAA themes, local speech recognition, Bluetooth remote control. Technology adapts to you — not the other way around.

13 themes, four specifically for color vision deficiencies (Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, Achromatopsia) plus a high-contrast WCAG AAA theme. Speech control runs entirely local via Whisper — no network, no cloud. Bluetooth remote for hands-free operation. And a theme editor that lets you customize every color.

// 02 Self-Reference

Built with Itself.

cipher-mux was built with cipher-mux. Not a single test was written by hand — every one was produced by Claude Code. First in individual sessions, then from Wave 5 onward by the Testing Entity as part of the pipeline.

From Wave 5, the Testing Entity was wired into the process: it writes tests, hands findings to the Debugger, and the cycle runs without manual trigger. 668 of 1,509 tests were produced in the last three waves — by the process itself. 0 high-severity findings in the final audit.

The developer's job was to design the process — and stay out of its way.

// 03 System Boundaries

What CIPHER-MUX is not.

For clear expectations:

01 Not a commercial product, but a generated open-source project born out of personal necessity.
02 Not a replacement for the Claude Code CLI, but a graphical orchestration layer built on top of it.
03 Not a magic wand for vague ideas. The ability to precisely formulate technical specifications remains essential.
04 Currently limited to macOS, as the architecture is deeply integrated with the tmux terminal multiplexer.
05 Requires Claude Code — which subscription includes it may change. Current info: anthropic.com
